Hunting: Umbria, the Regional Council decides to pre-adopt the new Hunting Calendar valid for the 2013-14 Season.
The Regional Council of Umbria, on the proposal of the hunting councilor Fernanda Cecchini, has decided to pre-adopt the draft of the 2013-2014 Hunting Calendar. According to the hunting wildlife management document, the pre-opening of the Season is scheduled on 1 September, exclusively with stalking mode, and only for the Alzavola species, Garganey, Mallard, Turtledove, Blackbird, Wood pigeon, Cornacchia Grigia, Jay and Magpie, while the general opening to all other huntable species is scheduled for 15 September, with the exception of the Wild Boar; the start of the wild boar hunting season is in fact scheduled for 3 October with the possibility for the provincial administrations to postpone this date. The early closure of the hunt for the female of the Pheasant on November 30, “this - said Cecchini - to safeguard the reproduction of this species. A choice that has also been made in other hunting contexts ". Hunting for hare will be allowed from September 15th to December 8th. The selection hunt for Fallow Deer, Roe Deer, Red Deer and Mouflon species will instead go on from 16 June to 14 July, from 18 August to 2 October and from 1 January to 15 March 2014.
Now the proposal will be sent to ISPRA, Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research, and then to the third Commission of the Regional Council for the competent opinion before returning to the Board for final adoption.
