The president of ACV, Cristina Caretta, is critical of the work of the Veneto Region as regards the preparation of a new Wildlife Hunting Plan.
The hundreds of thousands of euros of consultancy given to external technicians identified by the regional councilor Stival were not enough to prepare the new Regional Hunting Wildlife Plan within the deadline set by law.
The grueling meetings organized by the Councilor Stival were not enough, at which both the provincial administrations of Veneto and the economic and social categories interested in the question were asked to provide their collaboration.
It was known since January 2007 that the expiry of the current Regional Hunting Wildlife Plan was set for January 31, 2012, yet the self-celebrations of the regional hunting councilor seem to have only served to do just a little propaganda at the expense of the community.
The hunters of Veneto and the entire Regional Council were forced to ascertain only on January 25 (less than a week after the expiry of the current PFVR) that the regional councilor Stival had not been able to prepare the new Plan Regional Wildlife Hunting by the date established by law, requesting the extension of the validity of the old Plan at least until January 31, 2013.
In light of this bleak failure, the first thing we feel like asking is that the hundreds of thousands of euros paid for external consultancy that have not led to any results be returned to the Region, asking for material damage to those who have not fulfilled to the contractual obligations and the moral damages to those who paid them and who assumed the political responsibility of having deprived the hunters of the Veneto of the right to hunt certain species until February 9, as it was granted, in compliance with state law , to hunters from other Italian regions.
