La regional law of Piedmont allows the registration to several alpine areas, a rule that according to the Provincial Police of Verbano Cusio Ossola would have favored hunting with the use ofhelicopter. The commander Richard Maccagno he recalled how initially the vehicle was necessary for the transport of slaughtered animals, becoming then also essential for the recovery of hunters.
The situation has evolved very quickly, to the point that some hunters use the helicopter to reach inaccessible places and play their jokes. There is no lack of irony about this use and someone has even hypothesized the shots directly from the sky. Several hunters consider this possibility a "game", but for the Provincial Police itself it is a dangerous phenomenon. First of all, the helicopter prevents you from carefully checking the animals that are hunted due to rapid movements.
According to the Regional Offices, however, there is one law of 1974 which prohibits the transport of weapons on aircraft, consequently hunters could only load the wild on helicopters but without carrying the rifle with them. The flight area, however, should not be part of the Special Protection Areas and Sites of Community Interest: the commander spoke of special permits to exploit air vehicles, but for the moment the situation continues to be confused.
