Il Alpine area Cuneo 4 "Valle Stura" is organizing a qualification course for selection hunting for ungulates, scheduled from 1st to 23rd June next. There will be time until May 24 to submit the application, but which topics will be explored specifically? There will be space, first of all, for environmental and wildlife requalification, specifically behavior and hunting ethics.
There will be details on the generalities of the ungulates, the concepts of applied ecology and the various recognitions in nature. Participants will better understand the signs, nutrition and social behavior of the deer, roe deer, fallow deer, chamois, wild boar and mouflon. The lessons will then concern the evaluation of the trophies, the sampling techniques and the general methods for the quantitative estimation of populations. A practical exercise for the treatment of slaughtered animals, while the next day it will be the turn of the recovery of the injured animals and the track dogs.
Among other things, there will be a practical handling and shooting exercise with rifled barrel weapons equipped with sight optics, before the final test. The location of the course will be announced shortly. Finally, as regards the teachers, there will be employees of the Alpine District, qualified conductors, instructors with experience in weapons and ammunition, former ASL expert butchers and veterinarians.
