Michael Dallapiccola, councilor for hunting of the Province of Trento, has decided not to change the hunting schedules, as was initially thought following the controversy over a fatal accident that occurred at the beginning of September in Val Rendena. As established by the provincial legislation (as well as the national one, Law 157 of 1992), the hunt for ungulates can begin one hour before sunrise and end one hour after sunset.
At first there was talk of shorter hours, that is, from half an hour before sunrise to thirty minutes after sunset. The Fauna Committee has therefore approved the various technical prescriptions regarding the hunting season 2018-2019, deciding not to affect the hours and leave everything as always. The choice is valid for selection hunting and autumn hunting.
The hunters had remembered the need for the usual times for don't complicate your withdrawal plans, primarily those relating to the deer. The argument of greater security, on the other hand, was too weak, since the problem will not be solved by limiting the activity of all subjects. Animal welfare and environmental associations have contested the provision, as one could imagine very easily, hoping for a rethinking of the Provincial Fauna Committee as an organ.
