Intestinal worms are parasites that are harmful to your hunting dog's health. The environments that your dog usually frequents during your hunting beats are abundantly infested with eggs and their larvae.
It is almost impossible to prevent the animal from coming into contact with these parasites.
Usually the infection occurs orally, through the soil contaminated by eggs laid with the feces of an infested dog (roundworms, hookworms, tricurids).
Some parasites can also infect the animal through the skin of the fingertips (hookworms) or through intermediate hosts such as fleas (tapeworms). In general, intestinal worms cause diarrhea, vomiting, slowing of growth, swelling of the abdomen, but some of them can also cause the death of the puppy. Roundworms, hookworms and, rarely, tricurids can infect humans (zoonoses).
How to prevent its appearance
Prevention is also possible for intestinal parasites. Contact your veterinarian, who will be able to prescribe polyvalent products, which guarantee the control of multiple parasitic diseases with a single drug.
