THETerritorial area of hunting of La Spezia organized a course to enable participants to play the role of biometric detector of ungulates specialized in boars. The lessons will cover various aspects, in particular the wild boar in all its aspects: therefore we will deepen the biology and behavioral ecology of the ungulate, without forgetting the biometric detection and standardization of procedures. Practitioners will know how to examine the linear measurements found on the body and skull, as well as the preparation techniques of skulls and jaws, the hints of trophy and some basic concepts of statistics.
Another lesson, then, will be dedicated to the assessment of age and managerial effects, the estimate of the age group fromdental table analysis and various exercises. There will also be hints on the monitoring to be performed on captured animals and carcasses, health and genetic investigations, the analysis of the nutritional status and the rate of reproduction.
The qualification will be issued upon passing a written and oral exam: for registration, the request must be submitted to the Ligurian ATC headquarters by 12 noon today, Wednesday 10 April 2017. Applications will be accepted until the end of availability.
