Legambiente Umbria calls into question the Region on the issue of recovering injured wild boars during the hunting trips. The association presented an appeal against the regional regulation relating to the “Management of hunting ungulates through selection hunting", Limited to the part on" Recovery of wounded items ".
This regulation provides that "it being understood that the recovery of wounded animals in hunting action must be compulsorily attempted in the immediacy of wound point by the hunters themselves"And that" the dog used must have qualified in working tests on blood traces recognized by theItalian National Dog-loving Body. The handler during the recovery operations may: a) use weapons, however rifled, with or without aiming optics; b) if necessary, carry out the recovery with the use of the weapon, even outside the management district or inside protected areas or privately managed or prohibited from hunting ".
Legambiente Umbria disputes this part considering that so hunters would have too much freedom to move and hunt, requesting the precautionary measure of the suspension of the regulation and, therefore, of the hunting operations. The hearing of February 8, however, was postponed due to the absence of the parties. Thus i administrative judges have set for the chamber hearing and decision to take place on 7 June next (Perugia Today).
