The celebrations took place on Sunday 3 November, organized byURCA Fauna and Environment Management of Macerata, for the patron saint of hunters St. Hubert. The celebrations, the first of their kind at the regional level, began with the celebration of the Santa Mass, accompanied by the music of the horn players of the Leitget Quartet, officiated by His Excellency the Most Reverend Monsignor Giancarlo Veccerica, at the Church of Monte Aguzzo, one of the few churches that remained accessible after the earthquakes, located at a height of over 800 meters of altitude in the homonymous plain within the territory of the Valle di Fiordimonte Hunting Farm in the municipality of Valfornace (MC), in the splendid setting of the Sibillini Mountains with a spectacular view over the valley towards Camerino, and then continue with the lunch at the Sapori di Campagna farmhouse.
URCA - states the president of the Macerata section Francesco Marchetti - did its utmost to organize the event, as well as for the strictly religious character, also to try to promote and give a signal of rebirth to a part of the Marche region still severely affected by the seismic events. The hunters with their constant presence on the territory contribute to making the territory known and valued, and they want to reaffirm that hunting cannot be just a battleground easily exploitable, but it is instead something that places itself at the service of the territory and the environment with seriousness and passion.
A heartfelt thanks to His Excellency Most Reverend Monsignor Giancarlo Veccerica, to the Mayor Massimo Citracca, to the Municipal Administration, to the citizenship of Valfornace and to the forces of the Order, for their contribution to the success of the initiative. Welcome guests the URCA National President Ezio Conti, the Regional Gianni Fioretti, the ENCI Councilor Sandro Pacioni and the Regional Councilor Marzia Malaigia
