As recalled by Arci Caccia Pistoia, the problem of wild boars in the marsh area of Marshes of Fucecchio it has assumed dramatic dimensions, with significant damage to crops and to the whole humid environment. The containments operated by the hunters continued throughout the summer, with the obvious difficulties encountered in operating in an environment where there are no reliefs and where cinnamon and corn prevail. Given the emergency of recent times it was decided to intervene also in the protected area that insists in the heart of the marsh area and which obviously, being forbidden to access by man it has become a comfortable refuge for the suidae who find shelter there during the day and then go out to feast at night in the cultivated fields.
Unfortunately, like every time a hunter's foot dares to step in a protected territory, the outrage of the animal rights world immediately started, so obviously the opinions of ISPRA should be listened to only when they serve to take something else away from the hunting world. We have witnessed with disbelief the statements in the press that have taken place in recent days, and who describe the marshes as a theater of war in which it is better not to venture given the presence of the "Bad hunters". So it's good to put some full stops:
- those who have forgotten it are reminded that the containments are made according to a strict protocol approved by theISPRA.
that the operations are carried out under the coordination of the Provincial Police and with the supervision of the Volunteer Guards, therefore respecting all the laws and safety regulations.
- that the participating hunters, not only did they follow specific training courses paid for out of their own pocket, but they lend their work for free, without receiving anything in return, using their equipment without any refund, just for the love of their territory and wildlife management.
- that the damages caused by the fauna, when it is not possible to avoid or prevent them, are reimbursed by drawing on the registration fees paid by hunters to ATCs, without burdening citizens with a euro.
that the disturbance created by the presence of about ten people in the protected area is zero compared to that produced by wild boars.
Therefore, we can only be on the side of whom, volunteers and police force, challenges the heat and the mosquitoes, to try to lend a hand to the farmers, who in all this atmosphere of unjustified environmental alarm are perhaps the only ones to really lose out.
