A meeting of the regional wildlife committee of Sardinia. On the agenda:
1) The opinion of the CRF regarding the practices of hunting litigation (contraventions to violators of hunting laws). At the suggestion of the councilor, supported by the hunting associations, he was asked to change the wording "high visibility vest" with "high visibility clothing", given that many, during the serve, use jackets or sweaters (or other) completely high visibility, while the decree only speaks of high visibility vests, exposing hunters, in front of agents particularly attentive to the literal dictation of the law, to potential unjust fines.
2) Renewal self-managed and new Restocking and capture areas and renewal. Federcaccia voted together with the majority on the renewal of the fully-fledged self-managed units, recognizing the important activity carried out during the censuses. While he intended to emphasize on the ZRC the total absence of actions aimed at making them efficient, reiterating the need to proceed as soon as possible, with the due resources, and with the correct planning, to capture and repopulate the noble sedentary game present, placing it in the free hunting areas pursuant to Article 24 of Law 23/98. From the debate it emerged the need to establish as soon as possible in the provinces of the South and Sassari, the provincial faunal committees where these requests can be passed first (in this case it is a matter of areas included only in the province of the South). Finally, the need to foresee intervention plans for selecontrol on wild boars and crows, in these areas for the primary purpose of protecting the resident noble fauna. The point on the proposal to establish new RTAs has been postponed.
3) The plan was discussed selecontrol of cormorants and the serious problem of the eradication of the hybrid wild boar on the island of La Maddalena. While with regard to the well-known problem that arose for the self-control by the assistants, we are working to find a shared solution (on input from the Province of Sassari) between the Region, the Provinces and the Forestry Corps and Environmental Surveillance. We await important news shortly.
4) Among other things, we requested to have as soon as possible the data of the killing deriving from the hunting sheets (we take this opportunity to remember the extreme importance of marking all the killed items on the sheet) and the data relating to the requests and amounts paid by the Region for compensation for road accidents caused by ungulates, in particular by wild boars.
La Hunting Federation underlines the sharing of the work of the new Councilor Gianni Lampis, who led his first regional wildlife committee with a lot of common sense and balance.
