A new week has begun and, on time as always, theANUUMigrators has updated the data relating to migratory step at the 'FEIN Ornithological Observatory in Arosio (Como). The month of October ended with a good presence of song thrushes, which was also confirmed in the first days of November. The migration of this species was constant, without significant peaks, but with numbers not to be underestimated.
The same thing must be said for the redwing, whose presence however faded on the days of 4 and 5 November, a weekend characterized by changed weather conditions. The lower temperatures favored the migration of the large turdidae, as is also well evidenced by the Cesena, which has sprung up in advance in recent days. After years of absence, then, the frosoni peeped out, without forgetting the first peppole and "leopard spot" lucarini.
The presence of tits and finches has been defined as good, but the numbers recorded by should not be overlooked larks, pipits and linnets. Autumn was therefore positive in this area of Lombardy, taking into account that nesting was favorable in the North-East of the Western Palaearctic. The rainless perturbations undoubtedly favored the autumn pass and now we await the descent of the so-called "winterers", in anticipation of the first real snowfall, at least at an altitude of 1500 meters.
