The year was decidedly rainy and for this reason theTerritorial area of hunting Novara-Sesia announced the extension of the "Snipe Project", an initiative now in its sixth consecutive edition. The project will last until the next one 31 March (initially the end of the activity was set for March 15), unless there is a possible plowing of the land concerned. But what exactly is it about?
The initiative is carried out in collaboration with Novarese Dog Group and makes use of the technical and practical support of Snipe Club. In a nutshell we are talking about a theoretical and practical course on the census on hunting with the pointing dog of the bird in the paddy field. The Beccaccino Project allows to collect very useful data and information on the species. In particular, the consistency of the presence of the animal in this area of Piedmont, in addition to the correct use of the dog.
The census took place between two municipalities, Novara and Casalino. The area made available is that owned by two local farms, that is to say over a thousand hectares. The actual course, on the other hand, took place in Novara last January 18, to be precise at the Conference Room of the Novarese Agricultural Foundation.
