The new Wildlife Hunting Plan for the Province of Nuoro will make it possible to manage the fauna at the provincial level, allowing the inclusion of natural oases and repopulation areas.
The new Provincial Wildlife Hunting Plan has been adopted for the province of Nuoro, with which the ATCs will be established and the management of the fauna will be handled on a provincial rather than a regional basis; in this way a greater bond will be established between the hunter and the territory.
This phase concerning the adoption of the Hunting Wildlife Plan by the Provincial Council is considered fundamental and preparatory to the subsequent submission to the Strategic Environmental Assessment procedure.
The Councilor for the Environment, Franco Corosu, explains: “The documents will be published and filed for a period of sixty days during which anyone will be able to view the proposal and submit their observations. Following the submission of any observations, it will be possible to revise the Plan itself and subsequently to its final approval. The Region has asked us to elaborate the proposals of Provincial Faunistic Plans to arrive at the drafting of the Regional Fauna Plan ".
In fact, a type of consultation between the municipalities of the province of Nuoro has been launched since 2005 in order to share the possibility and the various proposals concerning the establishment of wildlife oases and the inclusion of restocking and capture areas in the Fauna Plan.
In fact, Corosu says “The creation of oases and repopulation areas is a very important step for the connection of areas of high naturalistic value, present in the provincial territory. The objective that is intended to be achieved with these new institutes is the conservation of natural habitats, the shelter, rest and reproduction of wild species with particular reference to protected species threatened with extinction ”.
In addition, the commissioner is keen to clarify ”The oases are in fact the only wildlife management institute, among those provided for by L.157 / 92, with the sole declared purpose of protecting populations of wildlife. The temporary restocking and capture areas, provided for by Regional Law No. 23 1998, are on the other hand areas off-limits to hunting, established in areas suitable for the staging and development of sedentary and migratory wildlife ”.
