In exactly three days, Tuesday 13 March 2018, there will be a preparatory course for roe deer census in San Bartolo Park, in the province of Pesaro-Urbino. The actual activity is scheduled for 17 18 and March next and will consist of four releases in total. These will be observations at sunrise and sunset, to be precise from fixed points, in order to easily see the places frequented by these ungulates.
Reservations are required by 12 March and you can refer to the e-mail address [email protected] or to the telephone number 0721268426. A few months ago we talked about the natural area of the Marche for theapproval of the wild boar management plan, now in its second year in a row. As for the roe deer, in recent decades they have had a very important numerical expansion in our country and also the San Bartolo Park counts it among its faunal excellences.
It is no coincidence that in December 2016 the Park Authority and the Pesaro-Urbino provincial section of theURCA (Regional Union of Apennine Hunters) they organized a series of meetings to find out more about the species. In the case of wild boars, the culls have been judged the right management choice, now we will understand the density of the wild and the strategies to be implemented.
