La Toscana is again the protagonist of the main Italian hunting chronicles. As reported by The Tyrrhenian Sea, in the last few hours a collection of signatures has been launched which aims to close the hunt throughout the territory ofProtected Natural Area of Local Interest Baratti-Populonia of the Promontory of Piombino (province of Livorno). The petition seeks to bring together the protests of the last few years of voluntary committee, in particular i hunting lodges and the rental contracts which have now expired.
Furthermore, according to the promoters, the Natural Area of this part of the region should be affected by conservation and restoration actions of the original environmental characteristics. The initiative started when the Green Park, a Milanese company that owns the Piombino Promontory, has assigned the concession of new fixed posts in addition to those already established in relation to the hunting of small game or with live calls for hunting wood pigeons.
One thousand euros were asked for each stakeout. The committee recalled that hunting in the area is in derogation, as not normally granted in this type of territory. The signature serves to cancel the law notwithstanding and access by motorized vehicles, so dismantle the sheds and remove iron, plastic and lumber. The Department of Hunting was not informed of the petition: among other things, we need to clarify other aspects of the issue and there are those who are ready to bet that the collection of signatures will turn into a boomerang.
