Agreement between farmers and environmentalists in Piemonte against thehunting activity, considered harmful and useless to solve the wild boar problem: it happened two days ago at "Animals & Environment Table". "During the meeting - he writes on his Facebook profile George Bertola, regional councilor - A manifesto was approved and the parties intervened agreed that the cruel solutions based on killing and entrusted to hunters have never proved effective, as well as ethically unacceptable. A historic agreement, which must be followed quickly by changes in the management of this problem by the administrators of Piedmont: up to now, however, the Giunta Cirio has proved very inadequate in providing answers, always serving the interests of hunters."
The manifesto in five points establishes that:
- The numerical reduction of wild boars it must be entrusted to public bodies and not to hunters, who have no interest in seeing the number of these animals reduced.
- The farmer has the right to reap what he sows. At natural disasters the damage caused by the hunting world must not be added.
- The hunting activity is of no advantage for agricultureIndeed, it is often also an obstacle to develop ecologically compatible local economies. The farmer has the right to be able to exclude from his own funds those he believes may be causing him damage, so the legislator is asked to overcome the pro-hunting derogation that allows hunters to access private funds against the owner's wishes.
- No to the creation of a wild boar meat, this hypothesis would only determine the worsening of the current situation.
- The future of agricultural activity will be increasingly marked by production ecologically sustainable and environmentally friendly (Targatocn).
