The report of the anti-poaching and control of the territory for compliance with the hunting regulations carried out by the Provincial Police of Prato from the beginning of the season.
Seizure of prohibited birds, electromagnetic acoustic calls and snares for catching ungulates. Since the beginning of the hunting season there have already been seven complaints for illegal hunting that the action of the provincial police has allowed to counter in the area. A provisional balance of the few months that hunting was open, demonstrating the constant need for controls and accounting for the continuous commitment of the Prato Command to protect citizens and to comply with the rules that regulate hunting.
In particular, the action of the Provincial Police focused on the prevention and repression of facts constituting crimes, such as acts of poaching and on the respect of the distances from buildings and communication routes prescribed by law. Seven hunters were reported to the Prosecutor's Office, all of whom were caught in the act of crime and the seizure of vehicles, weapons and ammunition, and illegally killed game.
The displacement of the crimes was divided between the Prato plain (four reported), three cases for the use of an unauthorized decoy vehicle - a recorder - and a fourth for having killed a forbidden species (turtledove from the collar); in the Vaiano area a hunter was caught shooting down black redstart and finches, two banned species, while in the Carteano area the use of illegal snares for the capture of ungulates was detected (two reported).
Numerous investigations and complaints of administrative violations, mainly against hunters who did not respect the safety distances from houses and roads. The control interventions by the provincial police throughout the territory will be intensified until the end of the hunting season.
