Poaching in the Gargano. In recent days, during a territorial control service aimed at combating the phenomenon of poaching, a patrol of the State Forestry Corps of the Umbra Station surprised three men intent on hunt wild boars inside the Gargano National Park.
In particular, the illegal activity was taking place in the Protected Area of the Peschici area where the three poachers were carrying out a joke. wild boar hunting; at the sight of the men of the Forestry who were approaching to subject them to the control, the three subjects fled but one of them was reached and blocked by the agents while the other two managed to disappear into the dense vegetation of the area making them lose their tracks .
From the police control, the arrested person was in possession of a regular firearm license and in good standing with the hunting documentation but was reported on the loose to answer for the offenses of hunting and introduction of weapons and ammunition in a protected area, in particular in the Gargano National Park Area; the poacher also risks revocation of the license to carry firearms.
The shotgun, ammunition and a portable radio transceiver, found in the possession of the arrested poacher, were subjected to criminal seizure.
