Hunting: Sardinia, the 2014-15 Hunting Calendar has been definitively approved by the Regional Fauna Committee. It opens on 28 September and pre-opening on 4 and 7 September.
The Regional Fauna Committee, chaired by the Regional Councilor for the Environment, Donatella Emma Ignazia Spano, in the session of 25 July 2014, approved the new Hunting Calendar of the Sardinia Region valid for the 2014/2015 Hunting Season. The Department of Environmental Defense has published the decree that regulates the exercise of hunting in Sardinia for the 2014/2015 season.
The decree contains the Hunting Calendar, which, in particular, identifies the species that can be hunted and the relative periods of hunting; hunting days and time limits; the maximum daily and seasonal collection of huntable species. The general opening is set for the last Sunday of September, on 28 September 2014, while the new Hunting Calendar provides for two days of pre-opening of the hunt, on 4 and 7 September exclusively for the Tortora with the modalities from stalking and without the use of the dog.
With regard to the beginning of the dog training activity, the Committee shares the considerations advanced by ISPRA regarding the start of the activity not earlier than early September as many species have not completed reproduction or the young born are still dependent on parents. In this regard, the Committee considered that an acceptable compromise solution is to postpone the dog training period to 1 September.
