After an initial funding of 400 thousand euros, come from Sardinia Region another 150 thousand euros for carrying out the census activities of Sardinian partridge, Sardinian hare and wild rabbit and for the preparation of withdrawal plans. It is the basis for a serious and modern planning and management of our precious fauna heritage, says the Councilor for the Environment Gianni Lampis, who underlines the importance of a common and synergistic project that involves the Provinces and the Metropolitan Area of Cagliari, the Region and the hunters themselves.
The latter, underlines the commissioner Lampis, “are called to carry out the typical activities of self-managed hunting with precision and punctuality, with a view to wildlife management and protection. To the Sardinian partridge and the Sardinian hare, in 2021 the councilorship wanted to add the wild rabbit among the species to be counted. The census activity, the commissioner still says, was also useful to validate, with scientific data, the hunting calendar, and keep it safe from litigation ".
The Provinces and the Metropolitan City of Cagliari, which will receive the contribution, they will use it in turn by distributing it to the concessionaires of the self-managed areas who carried out the census activities and the preparation of the withdrawal plans, as established and governed by the resolutions of the Giunta.
