On 10 July the Piedmont Regional Administrative Court formalized the revocation of the license of the port of shotgun for hunting use that she had been disposed towards a man. The latter had in fact been denounced for having exploded in the air a shot after a stranger he had attacked his dog. The hunter intended to scare the individual with the shot. The intentions were explained immediately, but the appeal to the TAR against the provision of revocation by the Prefecture was not accepted.
The judges established that the Prefect's decisions were not based on the criminal proceedings against the interested party, but on the explosion of the gunshot, a behavior that configures improper use of the rifle. The only hypothesis of a questionable measure is that of a macroscopic irrationality or a misrepresentation of the facts.
For the Administrative Court, moreover, the license is issued only for hunting and the shot in the air represents a different use. For some time now, we have been talking about self-defense and such a ruling can only provoke a wide and heated debate among the hunters.
