Caputo's audition
The hearings of the 'Agriculture, mountains and forests' Commission of the Lombardy Region took place yesterday afternoon with the Extraordinary Commissioner Professor Vincenzo Caputo regarding the effects of African Swine Fever (ASF) on the Lombardy agricultural sector. The president of the 'Agriculture, mountains and forests' Commission spoke in this regard Floriano Massardi (League).
A situation to monitor
“The level of attention in Lombardy is very high and the relevant structures are working to constantly monitor the situation. With today's hearings on the regional actions implemented and their effectiveness with respect to the continuing ASF emergency, we can confirm that Lombardy is the region that is moving best to resolve this phenomenon".
Eradicate ASF
“In our Region, especially in the Bresciano and Pavia areas, there is approximately 50% of the entire country's pig production and we are implementing all the necessary measures to eradicate ASF. At the same time we are also working to respond to refreshment needs, with the resources currently available, advanced by farmers who unfortunately have seen their farms affected" concludes Massardi.
