With the resolution approved on Thursday evening by Regional Council of Umbria hunters can breathe a sigh of relief. The pre-opening is safe. The unanimously approved resolution draws its foundation from the considerations made by the Regional Advocacy Service on appeal presented by the WWF and the subsequent pronouncement of the Regional Administrative Court of Umbria and the decree resulting from the subsequent appeal presented by the Region. The regional advocacy in fact considered that the ruling of the TAR referred exclusively to the selection hunting.
"In practice, the appellate judge, in believing that the argument on which the TAR bases the precautionary order consists in the alleged" inadequacy "of the plans for killing ungulates - motivates the resolution of the Executive Board approved in the Region - appears to support the thesis according to which the suspension of the contested provision only concerns the hunting for selection of the latter. This is the note about the Region: The regional council of Umbria has confirmed the hunting days of 2 and 9 September according to the procedures set out in the hunting calendar for the 2018-2019 season, while the selection hunt for fallow deer and roe deer species remains suspended: this is communicated by the regional hunting councilor, Fernanda Cecchini.
"The decision, taken by the executive during the last session - said the commissioner Cecchini -, matured following the legal investigations carried out by the competent regional offices regarding the contents of the Ordinance issued by the TAR of Umbria and in the consequent Decree of the Council of State. Therefore, as per the Calendar, on the 2nd and the 9th the species can be hunted teal, garganey, mallard, dove, wood pigeon, hooded crow, jay and magpie. Certain that there will be no doubts about the correctness of those who exercise the hunting activity and of those who provide control - concluded the commissioner -, I hope that everything will turn in the name of tranquility ".
