An already known program
The undersigned National Associations (Federcaccia, Enalcaccia, AnuuMigratoristi, Associazione Nazionale Libera Caccia, Arcicaccia, Italcaccia and the National Hunting and Nature Committee - CNCN) gathered in the Unitary Control Room of the Hunting World, intend to intervene with a firm stance on what has happened during transmission Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, which aired on Rai 3 last March 24th. The programme, already sadly known for other similar unedifying investigations in the past, became the protagonist of a distorted representation of reality according to which the hunter was repeatedly assimilated in its entirety to the poacher, in addition to numerous and unjustified accusations aimed at the category . The only element we can take note of is the fact that the public has now understood the poor quality of the product offered by the aforementioned broadcast and is already, with laughable audience results, the judge of the work of what should be journalism on Italian public television .
No valid argument
Therefore, we have given a mandate to our lawyers to evaluate the presence of elements to initiate legal action against RAI to protect the category and reputation of hunters, which is now too often attacked by those who, having no valid arguments, lean towards one-way information that turns into real manipulation aimed at generalizing behaviors to be condemned as crimes against wildlife, to damage a category of respectable citizens who instead represent a resource for the country. In addition to maintaining a high level of attention to deal with attacks like this, as done in the past, the Control Room and its members have long since made the commitment to invest time and resources in a high-profile communication campaign on traditional media , including RAI, and on social networks with the aim of conveying correct messages on topics of interest to the hunting world, in particular correct information on hunting and the environmental, economic and social role of hunters.
Respect for the laws
With this in mind, we also announce that an awareness campaign is starting which involves the membership base of the associations and which will see RAI's email inboxes as recipients of a request for fair treatment and the right of reply for the hunting world. In the firm belief that respect for the laws and hunting practice are elements of value for the society in which we live, we find ourselves forced to reaffirm in front of all hunters that we will not be intimidated by the behavior of those who use and manipulate the means of communication, even public ones, to denigrate our category. Obviously the whole affair, with its precedents, will be subjected to the evaluation of the RAI Supervisory Commission.
