THEVicenza HIT Show is ending, but the words of the mayor of the Venetian municipality, Achilles Variati, they are making people argue. The mayor explained how patronage was a must for such an important fair for the local economy, even if something did not work well. According to Variati, during the2019 edition entry must be forbidden to children under the age of 16 inside the pavilions where the weapons are exhibited.
The mayor did not like the photos of minors with semi-automatic in hand, a thought shared by another mayor, that of Rimini. For Variati weapons also create grief and problems and in his interview with the newspaper Repubblica there was no lack of reference to facts of Macerata. According to him, the do-it-yourself defense model is dangerously spreading among the youngest. Sergio Berlato, Veneto regional councilor and candidate of the Brothers of Italy, commented with amazement on these statements.
According to the councilor no alarms should be raised about non-existent dangersFurthermore, the mayor was asked to respect the legal gun owners, "people deemed reliable by the authorities and with a perfectly clean criminal record". They are the same people who attend the Vicenza fair, then their children would lack nothing in education. Berlato's comment concludes peremptorily: "Mayor Variati, as many of his political side do, instead of worrying about the weapons used by honest and trustworthy citizens, should worry about the weapons used by terrorists and criminals, often bought on the black market".
