Section One Quater of Lazio Regional Administrative Court expressed itself on the appeal of the WWF, ENPA, LAV and LAC against the hunting calendar for the 2018-2019 season. The animal welfare and environmental associations asked for the suspension of the text. The appeal was thoroughly examined and the judges of the TAR concluded that the conditions for satisfying the applicants do not exist, also and above all taking into account the considerations of the Lazio Region.
The application was therefore rejected and the associations will be obliged to compensate the court costs. The decision was made a few days ago, specifically Tuesday 13 November 2018. Last August the local authority decided to grant the pre-opening of the hunt on 1st and 2nd September.
Contrary to what has happened in recent seasons, this time the Region has preferred to postpone the approval of the pre-opening compared to that of the hunting calendar, most likely also following the problems encountered twelve months ago that forced the council to review the details of the timetables and the species that can be hunted.
