Dog trafficking from hunting in the Brescia area. A trader from Lumezzane had organized a real trafficking of stolen hunting dogs but ended up in the crosshairs of the Carabinieri who, following the investigation carried out, stopped the illegal activity.
The man, a 50-year-old from the area, used his commercial activity in the hunting and fishing sector to approach potential buyers of hunting dogs unscrupulous; each stolen hunting dog, usually already trained for hunting, could earn the criminal up to 2 thousand euros.
During the investigations carried out by the Carabinieri, eighteen hunting dogs were found between English setters and pointers inside an enclosure near the merchant's house; the man was already known to the Police for having been involved in the past in a trafficking of birds belonging to protected species.
The criminal was denounced on the loose by the Carabinieri for receiving stolen dogs which at the same time were subjected to seizure pending return to their legitimate owners who could be contacted thanks to the microchips that each of the dogs still carried.
