After the updates related to the ringing station of Arosio (in the province of Como) with the usual weekly note on the migratory step, you can also take stock of the catches at the Mount Pizzoc, in the Treviso area. The nights of 4, 5 and 6 October, in particular, were quite demanding: the pace of the robins was discreet, so much so that 150 were captured, as well as 6 capogrosso owls, but there was no lack of predators.
Ringing also involved the black redstart and siskin, the latter already abundant for a week in this area of Veneto. Among other things, it has even been known the presence of some trans-Saharan specimens, specifically the black nurse and the wheatear. The total number of nuthatch catches was very consistent, as evidenced by the fact that they were not present last year.
The days then continued on a substantially regular basis, with thrushes and slides starting to rise, while the redstars still remain intermittent. As for the finches, the first catches were recorded, without forgetting that in the other stations of the Alps this species is already in full swing. The latest October catches were once again dominated by robins (61) and rulers (17).
