As anticipated on several occasions, for some months, Federcaccia Toscana and the CCT they are working hard to make their contribution and their observations to the discussion that takes place every day more and more on, on the proposed construction of the mega wind power plant "Monte Giogo di Villore". In the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, in one of the most important migratory routes in the country and in our region, we are discussing the implementation of an imposing wind power plant consisting of eight wind turbines (seven places in the municipality of Vicchio and one in the Dicomano area) with a height of 99 meters and a diameter of 138 meters each at about 1000 meters above sea level.
The repercussions onmigratory birdlife of this plant, will be in the opinion of the technical-scientific structure of the Confederation of Tuscan Hunters certainly not negligible, especially in light of the data and observations contained in the substantial document drawn up. The observations formally filed are based on data in our possession but also on those made by the University of Florence at the Departments of Agricultural Biotechnology, the Institute of Forestry and Agricultural Pathology and the Department of Biotechnology and Agricultural and Forestry Engineering. Dr. Simone Tofani, on behalf of the Tuscan Hunters Confederation and the Federcaccia of Florence, had already expressed negative evaluations on the implementation of the during the participatory process - (Notice of public inquiry of 07/05/2020) promoted by The Tuscan Regional Authority, in the meetings of 18 May, 21 May, 9 June, 25 June and 2 July.
Following this, the written observations on 9 July 2020 were formally filed with the competent offices of the Tuscany Region. Documentation that we make available to the various stakeholders and institutions and which we believe should be taken into serious consideration in the decision-making phase. As far as we are concerned, we will continue our commitment in the coming days to introduce hunters and especially to migratory people, holders of fixed positions, etc. what is happening in one of the most important hunting areas in Tuscany. We do it for the sake of our passion, out of respect for hunting practices and hunters, but also because we feel we are active defenders of the natural environment and biodiversity.
