The unexpected political events that took place in August and in particular the fall of Conte government and the formation of the new government, which in recent days has obtained the trust from the Chambers, were undoubtedly initially a source of great concern for most of those who legally hold arms in Italy. This is due to a possible convergence between the two camps that make up the majority on issues related to legal possession of weapons, to which both have frequently shown themselves and proved hostile.
On the other hand, we are reassured that up to now neither of the two souls has seen the question as an urgent point to be included in the government program. We therefore want to remember the agenda proposed by Zingaretti at the end of August and approved by his party leadership prior to the formation of the new government as well as the various declarations that accompanied the gaining of trust, in which the rights and freedoms of citizens were explicitly and repeatedly referred to. Rights and freedoms which, beyond the rhetoric and political monotony, articulating itself on several levels, obviously cannot fail to include the right and freedom to legally cultivate one's healthy passions, to practice sports and to protect one's own safety and that of one's loved ones.
Rights and freedoms that, specifically, concern a vastness of people estimated at almost 5 million Italian citizens, whose health and honesty are constantly monitored and guaranteed by the State and who on the whole have always demonstrated the utmost reliability: not just citizens, therefore, but the most deserving of trust and protection and who in the near future will be able to evaluate well, in the polls, if their rights have been protected and valued or whether they have been further humiliated.
Our action will therefore continue with equal commitment in defending the rights and legitimate interests of legal arms holders: we will continue, as we have always done, to constructively and proactively seek dialogue with everyone regardless of the political alignment, to oppose each other and any distortion or falsification aimed at defining our category as a social danger, to do everything possible to neutralize any vexatious proposal against the legal holders of Italian and European weapons. But above all, we will continue to report promptly to our associates, supporters and all Italian arms holders how much the various political subjects take into consideration the rights and freedoms of citizens who legally hold arms.
