Hunting with wild boar in Sardinia. The Sardinia Hunters Union abstains on the opening of boar hunting on Thursdays. A measure that does not meet the favor of the hunting world.
The president of the association, Bonifacio Cuccu, is clear, "This is a decision taken to tackle swine fever and the damage to agricultural crops caused by the proliferation of boars on the territory but it is a situation that worries the universe of our members ".
The reason is logical. “With the opening of the wild boar hunting on Thursdays - concludes Cuccu - it affects a balance already reached between the big game companies, risking to upset the consolidated habits especially in the territories of the interior of the island. This is why we preferred to refrain from a decision that does not satisfy the hunters ”.
