Wild Boar Hunting: Siena, Pro Cinghiale on restoration of art.37 of Regional Law 3/94 concerning numerical control interventions of wild boar in the unsuitable territory with the ASPECT and TURN WITH LIMIERE modalities, “We have hit rock bottom !!! ".
On 8 August 2014, with an Executive Determination (collection No. 2154 of 08/08/2014), the Province of Siena restored the numerical control interventions of the wild boar pursuant to Art. 37 LR 3/94 in the non-vocated territory, adopting the following methods: APPEARANCE (all year except the period in which the hunting activity is open); TURN WITH FILLER (all year except when hunting is open and between 1 April and 15 July).
The aspect applies in all non-hunting areas and in non-vocated territory. To carry out the intervention, the Supervisory Agents are used who have carried out a specific training course; the latter can avail themselves of the collaboration of a maximum of 5 selecontrollers enabled to wild boar.
While the Girata con Limiere always serves the Supervisory Agent who has completed the specific training course and can use only one dog authorized by Enci and up to a maximum of 20 hunters. These must be in possession of Art. 37 and registered in the provincial register of qualified persons driven wild boar hunt o be selecontrollers registered in the appropriate provincial register concerning the selection of wild boar.
Recalling the Council Resolution no. 37 of 18/02/2014 and the agreement between the Provincial Administration of Siena and the Soc. Coop. The Supply Chain, stipulated on 20/02/2014 with validity until 31 May 2014 and subsequently extended until 31/12/2014, the interventions in Art. 37 can be carried out:
- Friday from 18pm to 22pm;
- Saturday from 6 to 22;
- Sunday from 6 to 12.
Animals killed during the interventions must be treated according to regulation 853 / 2004CE. This regulation provides for the recovery of the slaughtered animals and the consequent transfer to the affiliated slaughterhouse, using a special vehicle. Without prejudice to the fact that the animals killed during the intervention cannot be divided between the participants and the farmers with partial compensation for damages, we ask ourselves:
But how much does a slaughtered boar cost in the form of Art. 37? What is done with the wild boars recovered and taken to the slaughterhouse?
Bearing in mind that in the province of Siena there are about 300 Voluntary Guards, 43 Restocking and Capture Areas, as well as ZRV, there are the Closed Funds, the Protection Areas, Oasis, Nature Reserves and all the territory not suited for wild boar, and only about 40 agents (therefore only 10%) have been authorized to carry out these types of interventions, a question arises spontaneously ... how do you manage all the structures plus the non-suitable territory? How do you recover the slaughtered animals and follow the disposal procedures as required by regulation 853 / 2004CE in time so that the meat can maintain the required requirements? How much money, means and available personnel does it take to make everything work?
We do not want to dwell any longer, but a few brief considerations must be made .......
1) it is a way of intervening for a select few
2) the wild boars eat only on weekends according to the provincial regulations
3) money and time are wasted in the face of the citizen.
These are the rules imposed by the Province of Siena !!!! …… The only Province to implement this system in Tuscany.
We are convinced that we can do better !!!!! …… Maybe review this Executive Determination or better yet …… withdraw it and redo it from scratch by putting into action the modalities with which we intervened in Art. 37 until last October !! !!!!!
