The provincial sections of Arezzo of Confagricoltura, CIA and Coldiretti have made public a joint statement in which the situation of the hunting ungulates in this area of Tuscany. The three agricultural associations expected a greater number of culls, so that the Objective Law could reduce the damage caused by wild boar, roe deer and fallow deer to crops. The destroyed crops and the economic damage are factual.
The associations recalled the collapse of companies in the primary sector, but the culls did not follow the pace of the damage. In particular, according to these three agricultural acronyms, in some areas of Aretino the teams of wild boars refused to intervene despite the requests, due to the threats of other hunters. Such behavior is not understandable, also because the new regional regulation provides that it is precisely the hunters and the Territorial Areas of Hunting that reimburse the farmers in case of non-compliance with the plans.
Confagricoltura, CIA and Coldiretti now expect hunters to admit that over the years they have been the main reason for the worsening of the problem. The statement then reads how roe deer have become a real scourge for viticulture local, without forgetting the confusion that has been created with the selection hunting, a form of sampling which, according to the associations, does not help to intervene promptly in the event of damaged crops.
