La boar meat supply chain, from the capture of the animals to the transfer to the game processing centers, was the focus of a meeting, held in recent days, in the Regional Health Department of Basilicata. Present, in addition to the councilor Rocco Leone, the councilors for the Environment and Agricultural Policies, Gianni Rosa and Francesco Fanelli, the president of the Materana Murgia Park Authority, Michele Lamacchia, the medical director of ASM, Giuseppe Magno and the head of the Veterinary Office of the Region, Gerardo Salvatore.
The meeting discussed the details of the management of captured wild boars and the methods of transport in the authorized centers. A shared process has been defined which will be formalized in a resolution of the regional council. The Region is committed to solve the wild boar emergency throughout the region, transforming a problem into an economic opportunity.
