TARGET SHOOTING: 32 Italian shooters competing in Meraker (Norway) in the rifle and pistol specialties for the European Target Shooting Championships.
On Sunday 7 March the European target shooting began and this year found their home in Norway at Meraker. 43 nations participate in this important event this year for a total of 600 shooters. The competition, which will last the whole week until 14 March, is attended by expert shooters who have been practicing this sport for many years with excellent results but also young promises who compete to try to secure a place in the Singapore Olympics scheduled for the month of August. .
The Italian team, made up of 32 shooters, will be on the field for the whole week in the rifle and pistol specialties. There are many expectations that are poured into the Azzurri team, expectations that arise from the excellent success of last year when during the European Championships in Prague the Italian team won three individual golds plus one gold and one silver per team.
The Italian team was led to Meraker by the new sporting director Valentina Turisini in whom everyone places great trust. Valentina Turisini is also an expert shooter who in 2004 gave us a silver medal during the Athens Olympics in the three-position 50m rifle competition.
