A blue triumph
Il European Para Trap Championship ends with a real triumph for the blue team of Technical Commissioner Benedetto Barberini. Two gold, two silver and one bronze medals arrive in the tricolor treasure chest. The gold medal and the title of European Champion for the Sitting category (PT-1) went to the Sardinian Oreste Lai, the representative of the Fiamme Oro closed the qualification phase with the third best qualifying score and the partial of 95 / 125 in the final he maintained high concentration and the quality of his performance by winning gold with a score of 34/50. After winning the World Championship in Sidney in 2019 and the silver medal in 2021 in Lonato del Garda, Oreste Lai crumbles yet another record by also winning the first European event.
The main findings
Second place for the Finnish Juha Myllymaki who stopped at a score of 30/50 after approaching the final with the qualifying result of 101/125 (+1). Bronze medal for the British Keith White who earned the third step of the podium with 25/40 after having recorded a good 92/125. Fourth place for the representative of Germany Thomas Hoefs with 21 and fifth place for the Spanish Pedro Gomez Albendea with 14 despite the best qualifying score of 101/125 (+2). Out of the fight for the medal was the Italian Fabrizio Menia who, after having earned the pass of the final with the fifth score in qualifying, stopped at the result of 10/25. Seventh place for Davide Fedrigucci with 89/125. Italy that wins the team gold thanks to the performances of Oreste Lai, Fabrizio Menia and Davide Fedrigucci, collecting the total of 277/375 and putting behind the Great Britain and the Czech Republic teams. Among the PT-2 Italy climbs on the podium twice: Fabrizio Cormons silver and bronze for Giorgio Fazzari. Fabrizio Cormons entered the final with a score of 108/125 (+1) and dueled to the end with the Slovak Filip Marinov but with 37/50 he failed to reach the most valuable medal that goes to the Slovak shooter with the result of 116 / 125 in qualifying and 39/50 in the final.
Duel for gold and silver
Third place and bronze for Giorgio Fazzari who stopped at the obstacle of forty targets with 27 broken targets after having conducted an excellent qualifying phase closed with the second highest score, 112/125. Fourth position for Ignacio Javier Oloriz Sanz with 25/35, fifth the Finnish Vesa Jarvinen with 21/30 and sixth the British George Glover with 17/25. Seventh place for Saverio Cuciti with 107 and twelfth place for Giulia Vernata with 93. For the PT-3 sector, all three called up by CT Barberini took part in the six-man final. The duel for gold and silver is a completely home affair between Francesco Nespeca and Gabriele Nanni: the first finished the qualification with 110/125 and the second with 109/125 (+1). Target after target the two teammates fought but in the end Gabriele Nanni won the duel with 34/50 with Francesco Nespeca who stopped only one target late.

The third step of the podium is grabbed by the Spaniard Meliton Antonio Brinas Mora who was unable to keep up with the Italian duo and had to settle for the bronze with 24/40. Fourth in the final Steve Nothum with 22/35, fifth the Italian Paolo Bortolin with 17/30 and sixth the French Jean-Michel Brune with 14/25. The Italian trio Francesco Nespeca, Gabriele Nanni and Paolo Bortolin also won the team gold medal with a score of 326/375, second place for the Czech Republic with 207.
