The council of the Province of Forlì-Cesena approved the hunting calendar valid for the 2013-2014 season. These are the relevant dates, contained in the calendar which can be consulted in detail, as well as on the website of the Province, in the specific section of the Caccia Passione portal or at the following link: Hunting Calendar of the Province of Forlì-Cesena 2013-2014.
The hunting activity opens from Wednesday 24 April with the hunting of wild boar in a selective form, while from October or November, depending on the fauna institutes, it will also start in collective form. For the other species of ungulates the periods foreseen by the regional calendar are confirmed. The hunt for ungulates ends on March 15, 2014. From September 1, the pre-opening period is entered for jays, hooded crow, magpie, turtledove and blackbird only from stalking.
It will be possible to hunt turtledove and blackbird on Sunday 1, Thursday 5 and Sunday 8 September, until 13 pm, while jays, hooded crow and magpie can be hunted on Sunday 1, Thursday 5, Sunday 8 and Thursday 12 September, until 13 pm. In the pre-opening days indicated above, the training and training of dogs is only allowed from 13pm to 19pm.
We remind you that hunting is also governed by the regional calendar, which hunters must consult in order not to incur penalties. As always, it is recommended that all hunters respect the safety rules: in particular the observance of the distances prescribed for the purpose of hunting and to wear at least one item of clothing with an intense bright color in a clearly visible way. Furthermore, respectful behavior is requested towards all agricultural crops and works prepared on the land.
Hunting for ungulates is permitted in accordance with the specific regional and provincial regulations preferably using alternative ammunition in order to achieve a desirable total replacement of lead-containing ammunition and the exclusive use of rifled guns for all ungulates.
As per the regional calendar, it is forbidden to use shotguns loaded with lead shot ammunition for hunting in natural and artificial wetlands, such as lakes, ponds, swamps, marshes, oxbow lakes and freshwater salt and brackish water lagoons, including flooded meadows and with the exception of rubble, as well as within a radius of 50 meters from the outermost shores.
