Hunting: Liguria, the anger of the hunters explodes at the meeting in the Cap room with the councilor Briano and the representatives of the hunting associations on the Ligurian hunting situation.
Yesterday a meeting was held in Genoa, at the Cap hall in via Albertazzi, with the regional councilor for the environment, Renata Briano and the representatives of the hunting associations, attended by hundreds of hunters who filled the room. The purpose of the meeting is to take stock of the hunting situation in Liguria after the two rejections to the Hunting Calendar suffered first by the Council of State and then by the TAR following the anti-hunting appeals. The Region has therefore started the process to present to the Commission, tomorrow 31 October, the third Hunting Calendar of this 2013-2014 Season. Considering the technical times, the reopening of the hunt in Liguria should be immediate, in fact the commissioner Briano explained, "If the Commission approves it in the afternoon we will submit it to the council and the hunt will be able to reopen on Saturday". The rejection of this new Hunting Calendar would be unsustainable for the Region, therefore, considering the findings highlighted in the TAR ruling for the last management document, two changes will be introduced: the first concerns the approval procedure or first the document must pass to the commission and subsequently submitted to the approval of the Executive; the other change is of a practical nature since it concerns the ban on the use of lead ammunition in hunting ungulates.
During the meeting, the president of ANUU Migrationists, Alessio Piana, announced the decisions of the Region, but received whistles and protest chants from the hunters, including "We want our money back, you are fools, you do not protect the hunters' requests". Councilor Briano therefore responded to the protests by trying to calm people down, “I'll try again once again. The situation is difficult and is due to a series of unfortunate situations in which we found ourselves and to the misconduct we have suffered. We must be united in defending our calendar - Briano exhorted - otherwise we risk losing everyone and not going hunting anymore ”.
The commissioner then reconstructed the last stages of the affair: the blockade at the Council of State and that of the TAR which "however did not enter into the merits" and then added "I am here to have your consent to bring the new calendar to the commission. and I'm not even sure if it's okay ”thus earned another volley of whistles. The regional president of Federcaccia, Matteo Anfossi, then spoke at the meeting, "When the season has already begun, it is not nice to change the rules, but if this is the only solution to be able to return to hunting, we must do it".
