Also Fabio Rolfi, Councilor for Agriculture of the Lombardy region, had his say on the accident that took place in the Lodi area which resulted in one death and 10 injured after the crossing of some wild boars on the highway. Rolfi was very clear in his statements: “You cannot die from a wild boar on the motorway in 2019; these incidents could be avoided if national politics listened to the requests of the Lombardy Region and those who live in the area.
The episode weighs on the consciences of all those who for years have not lifted a finger to change law 157. We have repeatedly called for national politics. Unfortunately, an animalist, environmentalist and anti-hunt extremist vision is preventing the updating of a law dating back to 1992 and these are the consequences: accidents like this are not e they will not be isolated cases.
A court ruling blocks regional laws to combat wild boar by preventing trained hunters from operating outside the hunting period and from carrying out containment activities under the direction of the provincial police. Law 157 must be amended to recognize the voluntary worker, i.e. a trained hunter, which allows for the expansion of the containment activity currently in the hands of provincial police operators, now few and far between due to the Delrio law ”.
