Wild boars: “In Padua, and beyond, there is a wild boar emergency. The control of the populations of the species did not give the desired results, causing considerable damage to agricultural crops and making the faunal balance precarious, necessary to protect biodiversity ". This was declared by Piergiorgio Fassini and Paolo Dalla Via, regional vice president of the Arci Caccia of Veneto and provincial president of the Arci Caccia of Padua.
“For some time - underline the two leaders of the Association - we have been urging regional administrators to insert rules more suited to the territorial management of wild boar and that is why we have requested the approval of the new regional wildlife plan quickly.
This was not the case and everything is postponed to the establishment of the new regional council and the new council. We will return to the position so that certain commitments are made at this stage so that the new rules to be approved have an urgent character ”.
"It is actually a question - argue Fassini and Dalla Via - of adopting the measures that are already in force in the neighboring regions and that make it possible to address the issue, depending on the territories, through hunting boar, self-control and catches. There is little to invent, it is a matter of deciding and doing it quickly. The hunters are willing to take an active part and protagonist of a concrete management plan and Arci Caccia will take charge in all institutional and political fora to support this just cause ".
