In the interpellation of Ceccacci Rubino and the other signatories to limit hunting accidents, it is necessary to adopt the following measures extrapolated from the text of the document presented to Parliament:
“… To restrict the current legislation, in particular to: prohibit the participation of minors in hunting parties, even if only as companions;
- increase the safety distances provided for in article 21, paragraph 1, letter a), e) and f) of law no. 157 of 1992;
- intensify the controls and supervision of hunting activities in order to prevent and suppress behavior that is harmful to public safety;
- apply Article 703 of the Criminal Code (dangerous explosions) in the event of failure to respect safety distances, increasing the envisaged criminal sanction;
- subject hunters to annual psycho-aptitude and physical fitness tests, instead of every six years as currently foreseen;
- prohibit access to private funds when not expressly permitted by the owner; review the availability of the territory usable for hunters starting from mandatory and pre-eminent criteria of public and private safety, for the respect of the quiet life and outdoor activities of all citizens who live in the agro-forestry-pastoral territories for various reasons : more specifically to operate on a regulatory level in order to reduce the territory to be sold and to circumscribe the areas to be used for hunting;
- start the search for bloodless methods for the demographic containment of the species considered in supernumerary, with the support and guidance of ISPRA and the scientific world;
- block and prohibit the breeding and release for hunting of fauna belonging to the species to be contained;
- important for its educational value, suspend the hunting season for a non-recoverable period of time whenever there are fatal episodes, as unfortunately we see frequently today. "
