With a letter sent three days ago, Friday 21 September 2018, to Edy Flag, Councilor for Agriculture of Sicily region, Mario Candore, Director General of the Regional Department of Rural and Territorial Development and Salvatore Gufo, Director of Wildlife Management of the Territory, Italian Federation of Hunting, ANUUMigratoristi, Arci Caccia and Enalcaccia regional authorities of the island have asked for a meeting to deal with the difficult situation that has arisen in this territory.
Furthermore, the objective is to investigate the consequences of the decision of the Regional Administrative Court of Palermo with regard to the hunting calendar 2018-2019 and the regular running of the hunting season for Sicilian enthusiasts. In particular, the Associations highlighted the following.
"The lack of collaboration with the Recognized National Hunting Associations (which make use of their own technical offices), by the competent Department, in the formulation managed, in one to other interested components, of the 2018-2019 Hunting Calendar, led to the judicial defeat of this text, determined by the appeal by Environmental Associations and resulted in the order issued by the TAR of Palermo (N. 847/2018). The order of the TAR is very penalizing for the hunting world and unreasonably excessive for the decisions taken. Therefore deserves the appeal to the Administrative Justice Council. There is great expectation in knowing the point of view of the regional institutions.
