The training process
The first training course for aspiring ringers organized by ISPRA, in collaboration with the Po Delta Regional Park of Emilia Romagna and with the logistical support of the Renana Reclamation Consortium and the Municipality of Argenta. The course is aimed at aspirants who have already completed a large part of the mandatory training course with their respective tutors (expert ringers).
The theoretical lessons
Participants will take part in theoretical lessons and practical capture and ringing sessions which will take place at the historic ringing station of the Campotto Oasis in Argenta (FE). In fact, already in 1986, the first meetings were held here which would have contributed significantly to forming the first historical nucleus of Italian ringers.
Study techniques
Today, more than 35 years later, the collaboration between ISPRA and the Po Delta Park is renewed to offer young aspirants the opportunity to enjoy a moment of training with expert ringers and ornithologists and to develop study techniques of avifauna with particular attention to ringing for scientific purposes. On this occasion, the installation works of the new floating walkway created by ISPRA and the Park specifically to facilitate the ringing operations of marsh birds in the Oasis' reeds will be completed.
