The Tuscany Region has officially authorized the release of 50 pairs of partridges of "Montaperti" Restocking and Capture Area, in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga (in the province of Siena). It is an experimental project in which the wildlife technicians of theTerritorial Hunting Area of Siena together with the Verification and Control Commission of the same ZRC. The goal is to reintroduce the partridge in the Tuscan territory, especially in the areas that are considered suitable for this game.
Another experimental project concerning the same ATC is that relating to the red partridge. The release was considered free of financial charges to be borne by the Tuscany Region, moreover it is in line with the orientations that have been expressed in the Provincial Wildlife Plan. As can be easily understood, it is 100 partridges in total, 50 males and 50 females: only ZRC acclimatization structures will be used, therefore enclosure and aviaries.
The dates and times of the entry operations must be made known by the Sienese Hunting Territorial Area no later than next 15 December. Finally, the technical reports on the results and the general trend of immissions must be held every six months.
