A comparison between the hunting world and the Umbria Region it is no longer postponable: we are convinced of it. The current state of things and the delays on all the formalities necessary for the start of the hunting season worry us and force us to make some considerations. Let's start with the management of supply of hunting cards: to date they are not yet available and this creates considerable disorientation among hunters, since it generates doubts about the actual regularity of carrying out the hunting activity. We ask the Region for immediate supply e absolute transparency on the whole affair, which is unprecedented in Umbria.
It is then necessary to talk about the agreements with the other Regions: the negotiations with the neighboring Regions must be started with reasonable timescales, which allow all hunters to decide whether take advantage of these possibilities with a large margin of time. We said it over and over, but we went unheard. The territorial areas of hunting (ATC) deserve a separate chapter: it no longer escapes anyone that a service is needed for the structures and operating methods of the three Umbrian ATCs, which are operating in an uneven way in theapply correct wildlife management activities within our Region.
It is time for a new way of management to be established, which takes its cue from the dictates of the new Regional Wildlife Plan and applies all its potential. Uniformity of behavior remains increasingly urgent, involving the adoption of general measures (Statutes, ZRC conventions, budget settings) common to the three institutes, which allow a real relaunch. Finally, we reiterate, once again, that for a serene, correct and profitable hunting planning, solid relationships are needed between the Hunting Associations and the Umbria Region, respecting their autonomy; Federcaccia does not agree to participate in the Regional Council with arguments and themes, whose decisions have already been taken or at least seem so, in the face of take or leave.
For Federcaccia Umbra this is not good, the comparison cannot be reduced to a simple YES or NO. Federcaccia has always promoted the right and duty to think and discuss broader strategies for a certain future of hunting, while respecting agricultural activities and the environment. Finally, we take this opportunity to formulate once again our recommendations for a hunting ethics that respects safety and the measures necessary to the Covid-19 emergency, which can make us spend a good day in company. Good luck to all this 2020-21 opening.
