The final of the tenth edition of the Italian Cup for dogs followed by wild boar in pack which took place in Magliano in Toscana (province of Grosseto) ended with really encouraging results: as reported by Hunting Federation, the federal delegate Sestilio Tonini welcomed all the crews who had qualified for this final phase, with the subsequent meeting fixed at the Montebottigli wildlife-hunting company. The Italian Cup began with the tests of the auxiliaries of category B, subjects not registered with the Italian National Dog-loving Body (ENCI). The conquest of the title was an all-Tuscan race, with the wetsuits made up of Maremma hounds.
The victory went to the Pisan Mauro Lugli, whose pack consisted of Gaia, Virgola, Silvio, Zorro, Cecco and Piqué. The judges considered the dogs to be heterogeneous in terms of size, fur texture and coat color, as shown in the final statino. Furthermore, after being released their pursuit was greedy and well-made. The tracing was transformed soon afterwards, which was well vocalized and conducted in a safe manner by Virgola, while Gaia was slightly delayed.
During the moult, however, excessive courage was not shown with more savages in defense. Lugli managed to obtain the “Very Good” rating, scoring a final score of 154,8; Mauro Bergamaschi di Arezzo instead stopped at 152 points (he also obtained a "Very Good"). The ranking was closed by Francesco Anelli (Parma). The second edition of the Italian Cup for the Lady category was also very interesting: the victory went to the petit gascon saintongeois Caid, Gavroche, Pato, Spivace, Leo, Suré and Bastille led by the Savona Sara Dimani.
The moult was judged excellent from the morphological point of view and homogeneous, with 143,57 points earned in support of the "Very Good". At the scovo Gavroche was in the lead and the wild went immediately on the run, with Gavroche herself leading the following. The shift was closed with the subjects subsequently distant from each other. Finally, as regards the ENCI members (category A), the Maremma brindle hounds triumphed Vienna, Camilla, Nero, Rambo, Cirano and Brigo, led again by Mauro Bergamaschi: his pack was positively evaluated in relation to the search with greed and the pressing and fast follow-up. The “Very Good” qualification was enhanced by 157 points. The podium was completed by Sergio De Angelis with Maremma hounds and by Gianfranco Olivieri with ariégeois.
