ANUU, Federcaccia and CPA united for the hunting world, the merger project continues; the interview with Marco Castellani of ANUU Migratoristi.
Anuu Migratoristi, Federcaccia and CPA are working intensively on the implementation of a merger project of their respective associations envisaged by the Memorandum of Understanding signed on 3 September last year by Anuu and Fidc and then, at a later time, also by the CPA. The motivations from the Federation have been publicly expressed on several occasions by President Dall'Olio.
Among the points of novelty and strength of this proposal, there is undoubtedly the desire to go beyond simple agreements between different associations in order to reunite all the souls of the hunting world in a single subject. "It must in fact be remembered that, as explicitly provided for by the Protocol itself, the project is by no means limited only to the signatory associations nor, even less, to the associations adhering to the Coordination of Face Italia, but it was and is open to all hunting associations, recognized or not recognized, formally constituted at national level ”- underlines the president of the AnuuMigratoristi Marco Castellani, enthusiastic and participant supporter together with Fidc of this plan. "Personally I believe that if we really care only and exclusively the fate of our passion, we must at all costs favor and not hinder this change, even having the courage to question everyone, from the national to the territorial level".
A significant change of view therefore of the role and relationships between the various associations: “The individual associations and the men who succeed in representing them over time are only tools and not the ultimate goal. And the tools must necessarily evolve to keep up with the times and up to the challenges they are called to face. If we do not learn to unite, if we do not become stronger and more operational, if we cannot look forward and continue to look back, often fomenting absurd vicissitudes and abuses of the past, hunting risks extinction. Those who think it is enough to simply coordinate more and better between different acronyms are deluded, which we will do with those who do not want to participate in this great challenge of unity. We need to synthesize human and financial resources to invest in organizational innovation and truly speak to the outside world with one voice, as is already the case in the rest of Europe and the world.".
What are the common themes that lead in this direction? "There are many themes that unite us, and in particular the need to invest in scientific research and communication to demonstrate with facts the validity of our positions and finally be able to relate to public opinion, institutions and even politics in a positive, proactive and authoritative way, valuing hunting and hunters for what they actually are, that is, a great resource for society and the environment. The entire Italian hunting world, rightly or wrongly, has unfortunately almost completely lost its connection with society, and since a culture lives only when it has the ability to maintain this connection, it is precisely the hunting world that must absolutely commit itself to restore it because, until we succeed, whether we like it or not, we will inevitably lose something every day ”.
One of the sore points is communication: "Hunting in Italy is always presented as a problem and never as an opportunity and a resource, as it is in fact. Even the technical-legislative events have been distorted by an artful disinformation, without the direct interested parties being offered the opportunity to adequately counter, using the same spaces on the media, and thus demonstrating the objective truth which is far from being the one represented to public opinion. The weight of disinformation passed off in all these years and of the many falsehoods and exploitation of which the Italian hunting world has been a victim, whose great challenge today is to reverse the trend, to be able to provide correct information, is evident. The national media must finally grasp the willingness of the hunting world to offer the terms and references for correct information which is a right for citizens and should be a duty for those who make communication a job.
However, it is not enough and it is not necessary to just expect certainties and respect. We must demonstrate that we deserve them, that we are serious, credible and authoritative: our world must begin a path of "regeneration" to achieve the goal of re-legitimizing hunting and hunters in today's society. But we must want this regeneration, look for it with a sense of responsibility, ethics, courage, determination, proactive and planning skills, seeking the right alliances and investing, I repeat once again, in particular in communication and scientific research.
Staying still today, for inexplicable fears, would mean giving up without a fight and passively waiting for the end of everything. without trying to fire perhaps the last cartridge at our disposal to try to give us a future as hunters in this constantly evolving society ». The issue of relations with the agricultural world has always been among those which AnuuMigratoristi has looked at with the greatest attention.
How can the strategic nature of this relationship be further developed and strengthened? “There is no doubt that another fundamental objective to be pursued in the immediate future is to consider the relationship with the agricultural world more and more a priority and strategic, recognizing the essential contribution to the growth of the country offered by Italian agricultural enterprises which, thanks to their multifunctional role, guarantee the production of quality food and the provision of environmental enhancement services, as well as their irreplaceable role as host of the people of hunters. I am firmly convinced of the possibility of also placing environmental and wildlife-hunting issues at the center of common attention to further encourage a constructive dialogue between farmers and hunters to enhance, in all senses, the traditions and economy of rural communities.
The agricultural world and the hunting world have, in fact, multiple and positive common elements of contact, having the same roots that sink in the traditions and culture of the Italian countryside., but today they are also both affected by similar problems, such as the indiscriminate looting of the agro-forestry-pastoral territory and the impact caused by wildlife and wild animals, with very serious repercussions for agricultural businesses, for the environment and for the biodiversity. Together with the agricultural world we must propose and find definitive solutions to these problems within an innovative framework of true operational alliance between our worlds ".
The ANUU Migrationists has always looked with interest and attention to Europe, which in recent years has also been supported by our Federation, which is catching up on a delay that is no longer sustainable. Another element that unites and undoubtedly another necessity. “The future will have to see us increasingly committed and present at the European level. - Castellani confirms with conviction -. The European institutions are and will increasingly be the decision-making centers in all matters of civil life and the economy of all member countries, but they will also be increasingly so in agro-environmental and wildlife-hunting matters. We must remain connected to it both on a technical and political level, guaranteeing our presence on every occasion of discussion and debate.
Europe also has another side of great importance, represented by the organizational moments that the hunting world has given itself at that level: an increasingly close and effective collaboration with Face, the Federation of European hunting associations and with the prestigious Cic International (International Council for the protection of fauna and nature), as well as with technical-scientific bodies such as Ompo for develop in a coordinated and punctual way common communication strategies, scientific research and enhancement of the role of hunting and hunters in Italy and Europe".
