Reached the ideal place with the help of oars or the paradel, a sort of forked pole that is used as a means of propulsion in the shallows, the boat is sunk just below the surface of the water, in order to ensure perfection in the hunting area. and blend in with the environment. In fact, the ducks easily notice the human presence and just as easily leave the area.
Generally speaking, it can be admitted that hunters who practice hunting in Comacchio have about a hundred positions available, of which only about fifty are free.
To reach the position the hunter is required at most one hour of time and once he has conquered one of the free fire points, he will have the right to use it for the whole day of hunting. Do not forget that this is normally allowed on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The departure of the hunting day is more or less established around 4 in the morning, and can continue as long as the hunter wishes and as long as the weather permits.
Once the hump has been conquered, the hunter will have to build a small hut, even if many positions are already provided. In that case it may be necessary to freshen it up, thicken it with vegetation and grass, and camouflage it as best as possible. Once this first activity has been completed, the molds will have to be lowered which it is essential to remember, at the end of the hunting day, they must be compulsorily removed. In addition, live lures in the water and flyers will have to be placed in the hunting lodge.
Obviously, hunting on the bumps is not the only possible one. The hunter can in fact also opt for the offshore one. We do not hide it: it is a particularly complicated kind of hunting for palmipeds, especially due to the fact that it is practiced offshore, far from any reference point. In these conditions it will be really difficult to assess distances, for example. Moreover, offshore it will be possible to hunt different species, which in any case are all unique, characterized by complex behaviors that must be well known, at least if you want to make them the object of your interest.
It is obvious, as much as the difficulties increase, the satisfactions will also increase and the best hunters in the same day will be able, experience permitting, to hunt up to nine different breeds of ducks.
