Regulations of Tuscany: many positivity, however some shadow remains
The Tuscany Region has recently reformed its Regional Law on hunting thanks to the constructive and proactive contribution arising from the proposals of the Arci Caccia often shared by a large part of the Tuscan hunting world. The revision of the implementing regulations has also recently been completed; it is an extremely complex and highly articulated work from a technical point of view which has seen us also at this stage committed to solving some shortcomings that experience had highlighted. Our opinion on the contents of the new text is substantially positive.
However, we have not hidden some shadows which unfortunately have not been completely dispelled by the new articulated. In particular, in our opinion, different choices could be made on the subject of hunting mobility and on the methods of access to Tuscan ATCs where the risk is to expand too much a sufficiently guaranteed internal mobility system to the detriment of a serious and profitable relationship between hunter and territory. as an essential basis for the good management of ATCs. In these days a further controversy is "mounting" relating to selection hunting and above all to that part of the regulation that allows hunters, even those not qualified, to be able to shoot down a quota of selected animals in agreement with the single selecontroller and the ATC, to a maximum share of 30% of the abatement plan.
The position of our association was amply explained last year in the National Conference in Siena in which we highlighted a wrong attempt aimed at crumbling the culture of selection hunting in order to arrive at pseudo-consumerist forms of the removal of garments and relative marketing. This position, despite our strong opposition and that of the overwhelming majority of selection hunters, has nevertheless moved forward. Our commitment yesterday as today will be to avoid its application by provinces and ATCs. The choice does not belong to us and neither does the ignorance behind it.
